Abstract

Aim: The book Pszichológia a közszolgálatban I. (Psychology in the Public Service I), published by Dialogue Campus Publishing in the Scientia Rerum Politicarum series, presents the basic psychological knowledge related to public service.
Methodology: The authors of the higher education teaching textbook are mostly representatives of the teaching staff of the University of Public Service. The structure of the chapters is in line with the subject matter of the Master’s degree in Public Administration and helps students to learn the subject by providing summaries, recommended reading and explanations of terms.
Findings: Psychological knowledge related to the public service can make it more efficient for those working in it to carry out their tasks effectively.
Value: Chapters on relevant issues in general psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology and organisational psychology provide considerations that can be easily integrated into practice.
