Abstract
The study presents the structure of the Hungarian disaster management system and its essential role in protecting critical infrastructures. It highlights that the vulnerability and disruption of these infrastructures may lead to severe societal and economic impacts, emphasizing the importance of prevention, preparedness, and effective coordination. The authors underscore the role of the Governmental Coordination Committee and sectoral actors in establishing an integrated protection framework that enhances public safety.
