Dangerous offenders in prison

Abstract

Refelcting on a after a thought-provoking conference organized by the University of Pécs and the Max-Planck-Institute, the article examines several aspects of the treatment of dangerous offenders in the criminal justice system, especially in prison. Based on the theoretical framework of ‘punitivness’, the latest European tendencies in criminology, i.e. crime policy, penology and human rights are dis cussed.
