Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview and evaluation of the edited volume Terrorism – Studies on the Complex Phenomenon of Terrorism and Its Various Aspects, with particular attention to its interdisciplinary approach, thematic structure, and scientific and practical relevance.
Methodology: The review is based on qualitative content analysis, examining the volume’s thematic sections, individual studies, and key findings in a structured manner in order to assess its theoretical frameworks, methodological diversity, and practical applicability.
Findings: The analysis concludes that the volume fills an important gap in the Hungarian academic literature by addressing the phenomenon of terrorism from legal, political science, psychological, social science, health science, and technological perspectives. A major strength of the book lies in its detailed treatment of contemporary issues such as cyberterrorism, radicalisation, female perpetrators, lone actors, and terrorism financing, as well as in its presentation of examples and case studies that support practical implementation.
Value: Overall, the volume represents significant scientific and practical value, contributes to a deeper understanding of terrorism as a complex phenomenon, supports the work of professionals in counter-terrorism and security policy, and points to new directions in research and science communication.
