Abstract

The examination of paint materials confiscated in defacement cases, committed with various tools that leave marks, requires special expertise and instruments. Examinations of these kinds of criminal actions belong to the competence of the physics and chemistry experts of the Hungarian Institute for Forensic Sciences (HIFS). Hereinafter we present by practical examples the difficulties appearing during the labour processes and the importance of co-operation with the authorities.
