Abstract

Aim: The study presents the world of illegal street racing, with a particular focus on police actions and the changes in the legal framework. The authors also highlight the conceptual elements of sports policing and the importance of the unity between state regulation and self-regulation.

Methodology: The research primarily relied on sports law and sports policing literature, legal regulations, and internal regulatory norms. Additionally, the study processed the professional experiences gained in organizing police operations in connection with illegal street races.

Findings: As a result of the research, the authors concluded that, beyond the application of sanctions to ensure the proper use of public roads, the police and other authorities, organizations must initiate and maintain cooperation.

Value: The purpose of the study on the prevention of illegal street racing is to provide a comprehensive overview of the phenomenon and its management, the relationship between state regulation and self-regulation of sports, as well as the importance of cooperation between authorities and other stakeholders. Illegal street racing not only threatens property safety but can also lead to accidents resulting in personal injury. This study presents the current legal frameworks and police strategies that serve prevention and enforcement. It places special emphasis on the collaboration with partner authorities and its necessity, including municipalities, the traffic authority, and other organizations, whose efforts are essential for implementing effective measures. The purpose of the study is to contribute to the improvement of road safety and the quality of community life, as well as to encourage more effective cooperation and community involvement.
