Abstract
The paper presents the various requirements and selection procedures applied in the entry systems of the 19 independent German police organisations. It briefly discusses certain recruitment solutions and the verification of whether the applicants meet the medical and other suitability requirements. The author also elaborates several specific features of the entry exams for the staff categories of non-commissioned and commissioned officers. The author has analysed the similarities and dissimilarities, included in the entrance systems of particular
German police organisations, by using comparatistics, i.e., a comparative methodology.
