Abstract

Aim: At the organisation of criminal justice, the identification of prisoners plays a significant role during their intake and in the daily operations of the organisation. In this work, the Author primarily researches the development of prisoner identification methods and make recommendations for the replacement of the current identification system.
Methodology: Taking into account the author’s interest and experience, she will research and summarise the identification methods used for the identification of prisoners over the past decades, and make a proposal for the development of a new identification system.
Findings: During the research and in the publication, it will be presented that the current identification method can be replaced with a method based on biometric identification.
Value: The publication can be considered a valuable contribution to the overview of the development of identification methods. The topic is current and relevant in today’s society and addresses an important issue.
