Abstract
The name of Lieutenant General András Túrós is known to professionals and everyone over the age of forty. His professional achievements were unparalleled in the development of police behaviour during the regime change and in the elaboration of the police in the democratic Hungary. From 1997 to the present day, as President of the Nationwide Civil Self-Defense Organisations, he has actively contributed to the consolidation and development of the organisation, and to its becoming a major player in public safety.
