Abstract
The authors summarize the lessons learnt from an unprecedented project the Hungarian government took on by introducing State supervision of MAL Plc., the industrial firm responsible for the red sludge catastrophe. The measure was aimed at protecting and preserving the environment and local businesses within effected area.
