Abstract

Aim: The study examines the impact of the leadership styles developed by Lewin and his colleagues in law enforcement agencies, which may be shaped by the opinions of mature personalities with service experience and professional careers in the organization, may shed new light.
Methodology: The research was carried out using a quantitative method, the participants filled in online questionnaires, which were subjected to mathematical statistical tests.
Findings: We managed to create a realistic picture of the leadership styles, the person of the leader, and the attributes that can be connected to them, a distortion-free picture emerged that generated new scientific results in the field of leadership management science.
Value: Expanding the knowledge base of law enforcement, utilizing new research results in management and organization at the organizational level in law enforcement. Lewin formulated his theory in 1938 as a result of an experiment among 10-yearold children at the Child Welfare Research Center in Iowa. After nearly 80 years, its topicality for both individuals and organizations has been significantly influenced by social transformation processes. In view of all this, the rethinking of the theory should also be examined in relation to the management of horizontally and vertically structured (organizational and professional) law enforcement agencies, which can also be formed in a new light by the opinions of mature personalities who serve in the organization, and have life experience and a professional life path.
