Plagiarism & AI Policy

Belügyi Szemle is committed to academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using the Copyleaks plagiarism detection system. Similarity reports are always evaluated by an editor and are not used as the sole decision-making criterion. In cases of substantial, insufficiently referenced overlap, the manuscript may be returned for revision, rejected, or – if already published – corrected or retracted.

The journal acknowledges that authors may use AI-based tools for limited purposes (e.g. language polishing), but:

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors,

  • authors remain fully responsible for the content,

  • any significant use of AI tools must be disclosed in the manuscript.

Where appropriate, the journal may use AI-detection tools in addition to plagiarism screening. AI-detection results are interpreted cautiously and in context, but undisclosed, substantially AI-generated manuscripts may be rejected, and published papers may be subject to correction or retraction in line with our ethics policy.
