Restorative Bristol (UK) – from Rising Star to Lessons Learned

Absztrakt

Aim: This article aims to show how Bristol set out to become a Restorative City, and initially succeeded to a considerable extent. However, external events, exacerbated by internal structural failings, conspired against this.
Methodology: It is a narrative account, including a history of events, followed by reflections.
Findings: There was a lot of initial enthusiasm, constructive energy and planning, but circumstances provided difficulties, and there was not enough thought given to succession planning of Board members.
Value: These findings should be helpful to other cities, to help them on their path towards becoming Restorative Cities. The article contains pointers towards specific actions needed.
