Abstract

The aim of this column is to present the foreign literature that seeks the harmony of the values of freedom and security in an international environment fraught with crises. The theoretical foundation is enriched by the confrontation of the concepts of public order and public security. Among the strategic issues we can find in the planning of the fight against terrorism. Monitoring foreign solutions to the pandemic remains a topic, as well as the cooperation between social care and law enforcement. In this case too, the editorial method is to present the foreign literature as fully as possible, reflecting the emphases and research findings. The main findings of the reviews confirm the main aspirations of law enforcement administration in the third decade of the 21st century. These include the reform-oriented development of police organisations, the public security context of environmental and climate protection tasks, and the impact of the digital world on security. The main value of the column is that it opens up resources of universal relevance to domestic researchers and law enforcement professionels. In presenting the results of the research, we can find speacial ways, such as the analysis of police abuses through machine learning, the possibilities of law enforcement measures to combat the epidemic in mobile phone surveillance. A similarly rare problem is the cooperation between social workers and police forces, which is illustrated on the basis of Austrian, Belgian and Portuguese practice.
