Abstract
The opening of the Budapest Prison Museum—the Historical Collection and Document Archive of the Hungarian Prison Service—on 17 April 2025 marks a milestone in the history of Hungarian corrections. The museum serves both as a space of remembrance and as a place of presentation, contributing to the strengthening of institutional culture, the public recognition of the profession, and the preservation of historical values. Its key missions include supporting scientific research and professional development, as well as fostering direct engagement with the visitor community. Mr. Zsolt Várkonyi, Director of the Prison Museum, was interviewed by Dr.
Csaba Szabó, Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
