Abstract
The police, as part of the administration, realized after the change of regime that the generation of public security as a collective social product was not the sole responsibility of the organization. Collaboration with society has repeatedly highlighted the need for important series of actions that brought first the police, and then with help of the police also the population nearer to those minority groups that had been exposed to extreme stereotypes. Minority working groups within the police have now established closer and more direct contacts, opened communication channels and as most important achievement, co-operation of both sides seems to be emerging in a problem that has been considered hitherto as almost insoluble.
