Abstract
In the study, the authors present a non-exhaustive list of explanations available on police violence in the literature. Theories are presented that are related to the experience of violence, the representation of masculine values or the emergence of moral dilemmas. The authors do not consider neither violent behaviour nor other morally unacceptable behaviours to be acceptable in the police; just wish to draw attention to the dangerous mindsets that can be present in the police profession, to which the direct supervisor must react immediately.
