Policies
Belügyi Szemle/Academic Journal of Internal Affairs (AJIA) focuses on quality publications and research. For the past 72 years, the Ministry of Interior (Hungary) has supported the journal's operation and the monthly publication of its issues in print and digital versions. The Ministry of the Interior, as publisher, supports the publication of new scientific results in the represented scientific fields at international level. To this end, it does not require any financial contribution from authors and provides its services free of charge to authors.
It is an important policy to meet the requirements set by international indexing organisations. To this end, we apply double blind proofreading (see here for more details) and, as an Open Access journal, we provide immediate access to published articles and full issues after publication. We accept and acknowledge the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Licence as applicable and binding (for further details click here). We respect and support the rights of authors and editors and do not charge or accept any fees for the publication of submitted articles (for further details click here). We promote scientific integrity and therefore do our utmost to avoid plagiarism (click here and here for more details).
Authorship
An author is considered anyone involved with initial research design, data collection and analysis, manuscript drafting, and final approval. However, the following do not necessarily qualify for authorship: providing funding or resources, mentorship, or contributing research but not helping with the publication itself. The primary author assumes responsibility for the publication, making sure that the data are accurate, that all deserving authors have been credited, that all authors have given their approval to the final draft; and handles responses to inquiries after the manuscript is published. All persons who made substantial contributions to the work reported in the manuscript (such as technical help, writing and editing assistance, general support) but who do not meet the criteria for authorship must not be listed as an author. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the author list and verify that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
Screening for Plagiarism
Authors are encouraged to check plagiarism before uploading their manuscript to the journal's OJS system. Manuscripts submitted to Belügyi Szemle/Journal of Internal Affairs (AJIA), the

Data sharing
Belügyi Szemle/Journal of Internal Affairs (AJIA) requests all authors to make available “all data underlying the findings described in their manuscripts.” Authors are encouraged to maintain the anonymity of the participants in both qualitative and quantitative data before sharing it with the editors or the public. The research method is at the core of editor and peer evaluation of manuscripts.
Publication
Belügyi Szemle/Journal of Internal Affairs (AJIA) provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Published articles are listed in major databases such as ProQuest, EBSCOhost, OCLC/WorldCat, Google Scholar and ERIH PLUS. In Hungary, the digital copies are deposited in the Hungarian Scientific Bibliography (Magyar Tudományos Művek Tára, MTMT) and its associated REAL Repository.
Authors will receive a hard copy and an electronic copy of published articles.
