Belügyi Szemle/Academic Journal of Internal Affairs (AJIA) – printed ISSN 2062-9494 and online ISSN 2677-1632 – is published by the Ministry of Interior, Hungary. The Editorial Committee is chaired by the State Secretary for Public Administration of the Ministry of the Interior.

The Ministry of the Interior of Hungary is committed to scientific development and the creation and dissemination of scientific value. The Ministry of the Interior has laid down in legislation guidelines to promote and support the work of scientific researchers and science organisers in the field of home affairs. The Ministry of the Interior supports the activities of researchers, authors and science organisers in the field of Hungarian internal affairs, which are aimed at acquiring new knowledge, applying and improving existing knowledge and raising the level of training of the internal affairs staff. The main objective is to ensure freedom of scientific life, including freedom of scientific research and freedom to acquire and teach scientific knowledge. The Ministry of the Interior considers it of the utmost importance to disseminate widely the creative work carried out in the international academic arena. A key element of the publishing tasks is to ensure that the scientific results published are made available to professionals working in the international scientific community. To this end, the Ministry of Interior has set the short-term goal of joining international indexing organisations.
