Abstract
Aim: Presentation of the criminal law aspects of the reverence and the examination of practical implementation of the aspects of the issue of reverence.
Methodology: Examination of criminal records of the legal environment and fatal road accidents.
Findings: The authors deal in detail with the former and current regulation of the misdemeanour of contempt, then with the procedural application of the aspects of reverence, and finally with reference to concrete examples with the anomalies of the investigative practice related to the on-site examination of the dead.
Value: The authors draw attention to the fact that it would be justified to amend the rules of evidence in the Code of Criminal Procedure in order to ensure a more effective enforcement of the right to reverence. The study also draws attention to the fact that there is no legal basis for the closed handling of contempt recordings.
