Abstract
Applying criminological arguments and providing recommendations for the legislator, the author provides a critical assessment of the recent Hungarian bill on petty offences, which not only imposes extremely severe sanctions, but while allowing the duplication of procedures, equates misdemeanour law and administrative law with criminal law.
