Abstract
Gifted workers form a special group within the work organizations. Their complex intellectual abilities, special behavior and personality characteristics allow a unique way of seeing things. This is the basis for deviation from the traditional solutions, and an outstanding domain-specific performance, too. The aim of this study is to present the psychological foundations of the new law-enforcement talent management system. We describe the particular traits of the gifted adults, and their specific occupational preferences. We overview the talent concepts existing within the specific context of the world of work. We present the intrapersonal dynamics of the talented worker’s personality, furthermore we discuss the possible problems which can derive from the interactions between the talented person and the work environment. Finally, we discuss how can we help their integration, and how can the gifted individuals contribute to the organisational innovation.
