Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study is to present the case law of the European Court of Human Rights on domestic violence. We would like to present one of the decisions of the Court in Slovakia, Turkey, Hungary, Italy and Russia, taking into account their similarities and differences.
Methodology: Our study was prepared in a descriptive manner, based on the available legal regulations and literature, illustrating the theoretical knowledge with legal cases.
Findings: Apparently, the legislation on domestic violence is similar in the cases examined, but it cannot be said that they are completely identical. The legal provisions of each state, despite the fact that all countries affected by the case are members of the UN, lay down different detailed rules for the UN conventions defined as the main direction.
Value: In recent years, no studies have been conducted, or only to a very limited extent, on the case law of domestic violence in different states.
