Hate or prejudice? Words or action?: Definitions and categorisation

Abstract

This author strives to clarify the notion of hate-crime and explains why bias motivated violence needs special attention from law-enforcement. The author enumerates all crimes regulated in the Hungarian Criminal Code that can be covered by the concept of hate crimes and analyses in details the crime ‘violence against a member of the community’ in order to promote a more effective application of the law.
