Abstract
By using pointing to specific cases, the author illustrates the shortcomings of Hungarian police and prosecution procedures in dealing with hate crimes – where circumstances indicating a hate crime are habitually disregarded, and criminal proceedings are initiated and conducted for less serious crimes than “violence against a member of a community”.
