Abstract
Aim: The paper aims to formulate the cornerstones in the field of education in criminal sciences, which facilitate the development of students’ practical competencies based on theoretical knowledge, which is a result of the unique nature of the training tasks of the Faculty of Law Enforcement and is based on a practical approach to law enforcement work. The paper examines the three criminal science subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure law, and criminology from the point of view of how digital teaching methods can, in the future, support teaching and deepening students’ knowledge in the disciplines covered by the criminal sciences, also drawing on the experience of digital teaching in epidemic situations.
Methodology: The research compares the review of ‘good practices’ developed in higher education institutions in Hungary with teaching criminal sciences at the NKE RTK, particularly on digital tools and methods.
Findings: The paper outlines how to develop a new, complex (thus combining related disciplines) teaching methodology and subject themes in primary education, emphasizing the practical application of theoretical knowledge. The paper will review the advantages and disadvantages of training models in the field of criminal sciences, both for instructors and students, to the possibilities of digitalization of education.
Value: The paper makes valuable recommendations for the current education system, aiming to improve it and increase its effectiveness in the future.
