History of the regulation of police measures from 1881

Abstract

Aim: Analysis and presentation of changes in the regulation of selected police measures.

Methodology: The author of the article explores and summarises the rules under which Hungarian law enforcement agencies have acted over the past 140 years.

Findings: In the course of the research and in the publication, it is shown that the earlier normative text cannot be considered obsolete and that later regulation does not always represent an improvement.

Value: The publication shows that the legislation of previous years can serve as a guide for current legislators.
