Abstract

The author presents a book published by the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Bavaria: János Sallai: A trace of a bygone era. The History of the Iron Curtain. which is not simply the story of the so-called Hungarian Iron Curtain. The events narrated and presented are in fact five or six threads running parallel and complementing each other, illustrating the border surveillance situation on the Austrian-Hungarian state border for more than half a century, sometimes also looking out to other borders of our country.
