Abstract
Aim: The book itself and this review deal with the independent control types of imprisonment, one of the main sanctions of the Hungarian penal system and emphasises the checking and controlling possibilities of international organisations,
science and society.
Methology: The presentation of the paper is based on the methodology of content analysis and a professional analysis following the structure of the article.
Findings: The author describes the title topic of the monograph in depth, highlighting the potential and weak points of the already mentioned forms of control, and also records her future-oriented findings.
Value: The monograph guides the reader through the independent control forms of the execution of prison sentences, highlighting their effectiveness, efficiency and the factors limiting their operation.
