Abstract
Interpersonal agreement is of the same age as human history. However, its shape is infinitely diverse. It has changed from continent to continent and from era to era and is still changing. Mediation, i.e., mediation and support by a third party in the process of conciliation, also has a millennial history. We can still choose that today as a legitimate form of conciliation that is legally full in line with Hungarian and EU law. The book presents the historicity of this alternative form of dispute resolution. Current legitimate types are introduced by practical examples through the Participatory Communication Theory framework.
