Abstract
The author provides a thorough analysis of the difficulties of investigating corruption, and bribery in particular. The areas in focus include the lack of immediate victims, the peculiarities of conspiracy and the recording of personal evidence. Special emphasis is put on the importance of internal supervision and financial control within public authorities, as well as the use of secret information gathering and specialized methods for interrogating witnesses and whistle blowers.
