Abstract
Although desistance from crime has only been in the focus of academic interest in the past few decades, there is a substantial amount of theoretical and empirical research available. These research findings may have practical implications in several fields of criminal policy. Research on desistance from crime in Hungary is still in its infancy; therefore the article provides a summary of the most important findings in international literature.
